My friend of 30 years, Frank, lives in Puerto Rico. In late 2016, he had a stroke. I wanted to build a cane for him to help him get around while he was getting his strength back. Then he survived the hurricanes Jose and Maria that flattened a lot of the area where Frank lives. I designed and carved this cane from walnut and had my awesome artist friend Dale make it groovy for Frank. He’s also quite the skier, so Dale painted Waldo on the slopes on one side of the cane and did some of his awesome pin striping on the other side! It turned out pretty cool, I think.
